A Closer Look at The Champ’s Streak
“We’re going streaking!” – Ken Climo, circa 1990 (probably).
Ken Climo won his first PDGA World Championship in 1990. Then he won it again. And again. And again. Nine years in a row. One of the most dominant runs in the history of sports, period.
The nine year streak ended in 1999 at the hands of Ron Russell (PDGA #9999 — seriously). That 10th straight might just not have been meant to be. Since then, only Paul McBeth has come close, streaking for four straight world championships from 2012 to 2015 before Ricky Wysocki broke through with back-to-back titles of his own.
