Ken Climo has left an indelible mark on the sport of disc golf with a Hall of Fame career that can be simply surmised as dominant. Known as “The Champ”, Climo is the epitome of consistency, both in his play and his acumen for winning.
Climo won a staggering 12 Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) World Championship titles, which includes 9 straight from 1990-1998. During his reign of dominance, Climo also racked up 5 United States Disc Golf Championship (USDGC) victories, 3 PDGA Master World Championships and a career total professional win count of 229.
Beyond the accolades, Climo contributed to the growth and evolution of disc golf. His success brought increased visibility to the sport, inspiring countless players and fans alike. Climo was a pioneer in advancing disc golf as a professional sport, helping elevate competitive standards and pushing the boundaries of what the sport could achieve.
In 1995, Ken Climo was inducted into the Disc Golf Hall of Fame at only 27 years old, an acknowledgment of his immense contributions to the game. Even after stepping back from full-time competition, Climo’s legacy endures as a symbol of excellence and passion in disc golf. His impact on the sport is immeasurable, and his career remains a benchmark for aspiring disc golfers worldwide.
With the support of Discraft, Climo will launch the standalone brand, “Climo Disc Golf”, in 2025. The mission of Climo Disc Golf is to preserve and enhance “The Champ’s” legacy today and forever.
