The nickname “Champ” was not given lightly. From 1990 through 1998, Ken Climo stood alone at the top of the disc golf world, winning nine consecutive PDGA World Championships. In the midst of that historic streak, the title became inseparable from his name. It was more than a nickname, it was a statement of dominance. When the first putter from Climo Disc Golf was created, there was only one name worthy of it.
In total, Climo captured 12 World Championships in the MPO division, but it was that unmatched run of nine in a row that cemented his legacy as an all-time great. The Streak recently made its debut in the colorful Signature Line plastic blend. The straight flying Prototype Streak was an instant hit with Ken Climo. “A little bit more than good, this is a great disc - maybe my favorite in the line.” While the official Climo Disc Golf Store is sold out of Prototype Streaks, you may be able to find one in-person or online from your favorite shop. Prototype vs First Run - What’s the Difference?
The Prototype Streak introduced the mold in Signature Line plastic, giving players a first look at both the Streak and the colorful Signature Line. The First Run comes in the durable and hand-pleasing Victory Line plastic. The feel in the hand is noticeably different between the two plastics, but the flight holds true to it’s 7|5|0|1 flight numbers.
The Signature Line plastic is a premium blend that builds off the trusted Major Line with a few key tweaks: a slightly stiffer feel, along with a jaw dropping marbled, swirl aesthetic. Visuals will vary from disc to disc.
The Victory Line is a premium plastic built for serious competition. Featuring a signature pearlescent finish, it offers a confident grip and clean release when you need it most.
