Early on, we joked with Ken that the Coast has ‘Disc of the Year’ potential. The response from the disc golf community has amplified those ‘disc of the year’ feelings. Six months into first throwing the Coast and we’re convinced that we do in fact have the disc of the year.

To honor their long-standing friendship, records and remarkable streaks, Climo Disc Golf is proud to announce the Ken & Cale Streak. This limited edition Victory Line Streak comes packed with glitter and a beautiful double-foil stamp.

Apogee is defined as the point at which an object in orbit reaches it's furthest point away. The name was suggested by Ken to honor his father, who was an avionics engineer at Honeywell. Much like Ken, the elder Climo spent a career with his eyes to the sky.

This summer, Climo is scheduled to be at a couple of the biggest events on the schedule. 

Ken Climo learned the flight of the frisbee with friends in Cliff Stephens Park in the late 1980's. The Clearwater, FL park had lights in the parking lot and Climo and his friends would take advantage, playing catch for hours in to the night. When a disc golf course in Cliff Stephens was installed in 1986, Ken's life would be altered forever. 

The Champ shared, "since getting the Coast, I'm throwing it on like 60% of my tee shots". He likes that he can power it down and drop it on a dime or put some juice on it to reach holes a midrange normally can’t get to. 

Before premium plastic was introduced in the early 2000's players had bags full of baseline. You would typically have multiples of the same mold: a beat up version, a slightly beat version and then a freshie. This allowed you to cover all the shots needed and have a backup or two in case you squared up a tree. It was just a part of the game you had to be prepared for.

When the time came to talk about his next disc, Climo knew exactly what he wanted. His request for the 6th mold in the Climo Disc Golf lineup was simple. He was looking for the following:

• A slightly faster mid range to pair with the Belleair

• Torque resistant, but not too overstable

• Excellent glide

• A slight dome

Ken Climo, also known as The Champ, has been playing disc golf and frisbee (catch) at Cliff Stephens park in his hometown of Clearwater, FL since he was a kid. Climo estimates that before the course was installed in 1986 that he had already logged thousands of throws in the park. From childhood, through his entire career and to this very day, Cliff Stephens has been the "Home of the Champ".
